Do “successful” men actually want to date women who are as “successful” as them? (23F) I am a freelance editor/VFX artist and make a solid 6 figure living, so naturally I’d like to date someone who’s at a relatively equal place. I know it might be a lot to ask, but I also don’t want to date someone who’s anymore than 5 years older than me.

I’ve been actively trying to date, both using dating apps and through mutual friends but I find that guys who meet my ideals seem to get turned off by the fact that I can compete with them from a financial standpoint. I find that when they are around my age they are often the highest earning person in their circle. it isn’t super common to already be earning 6 figures in your early 20s, at least in my area. So as soon as they start to learn I am in a similar position, it puts a chip on their shoulder. Do I just need to wait until more people begin to catch up financially? Or am I maybe just looking in the wrong places? It’s not even that I care about how much money they make specifically, but I’ve found even less luck trying to date guys who make a lot less, as they tend to feel even more emasculated, and I really don’t like the dynamic it creates.
