He tagged both Olivia Rodrigo and Interscope Records and added the caption: Finishing records… On March 5, Olivia was asked at Paris Fashion Week why she had been wearing primarily pink-colored clothes during her recent outings, and whether it was a hint towards the theme of her forthcoming album. Rodrigo responded: [I’ve been] feeling girly these days […] keeping it close to the chest. On March 13, Olivia’s website was updated with a brand new purple logo and font design , hinting at the potential aesthetic for the next album. The logo was soon spotted on murals, screens, and chalk designs across the world. On April 2, Rodrigo officially announced the album’s title, artwork, and release date via an Instagram post . Olivia Rodrigo revealed that her producer, Dan Nigro, came up with the album title: I was having a conversation with my producer, Dan, about something, and he said something like: ‘Ah, you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love,’ just in a normal conversation — and I was like: ‘wow’.” On April 7, Rodrigo announced via social media that the lead single, “drop dead”, would be released on April 17. And so that was kind of the thing that I set out to do in this album is I wanted to make a— a sad love song.
