Now there’s a dating site where you can sing his praises to potential partners. The site, called “Jess, Meet Ken” works like this: A woman creates a profile for a man she likes but isn’t interested in dating. Other women check out these profiles and, if any of the guys catch their eye, they contact the user who posted the profile to learn more about that man. If all goes well, the middle woman can introduce them. The website is based on the real-life romance of its founders and namesakes, Jess and Ken Deckinger. Years ago, Ken’s best friend Adele created a dating profile for him on an old website similar to Jess, Meet Ken. Jess, who was on the site to create a profile for a co-worker, came across Ken’s page and reached out to Adele about him. The rest is history. According to their website, the Deckingers got married four years later and now have three little girls. “It’s a passion project for us. I feel very blessed to have met Jess and to have our family, and we are really excited to be able to offer that to people,” Ken Deckinger told the Daily News. The site is currently in its first beta phase, so users are signing up and building the profile database. “Beta phase two,” as Deckinger called it, will launch soon. That is when the matching component will come into play and people will start meeting. What separates Jess, Meet Ken from other dating website is that men can only join through a lady friend. That means, in theory, the guys on the site are vetted and the bad eggs are sorted out. Plus, the women who use the site may forge new friendships. “It’s designed to be a fun environment for people to meet,” Deckinger said.
