Why Focus on Christian Singles over 40? Many marriage-minded Christian singles over 40 who have been actively searching for their future Christian wife or husband have become extremely frustrated. And hopelessness has begun to weaken their faith that their partner in life will ever appear. They've prayed, searched, and have been patient. What more could they do? And, would it be worth it? Marriage Minded Christian Singles: Don't Pray Just for Yourself! Although you may be the only over 40 Christian single in your circles, many other over 40 Christian singles are in the same situation in their circles. For each person, it's like he or she is alone in the battle for what should be a simple thing in life: meet your life partner. The fact is, you are NOT alone, but often your prayers are only for yourself, for God to send the man or woman into your life who is to be your wife or husband. While there's nothing wrong with that, there is something very important that is missing: prayer for those who are in the same boat as you are, because God not only sees you, He sees and is concerned about ALL of His servants who are found in what can be a miserable situation. There is a demonically inspired, worldwide problem of Christian singleness, which is taking its toll on the 40 and over population. The very first thing that you can immediately implement is prayer for the whole. This is storming heaven with the request for the Lord to directly intervene to form the husband and wife teams that are in accordance with His perfect will. Is this advice scriptural? It most certainly is, because it is acting within the love of God that should dwell in the believer for others who are in need of God's help. We are not just concerned about our own personal happiness. We are concerned about the personal happiness of other believers in Jesus as well as morally decent people who are seeking their future spouse. Jesus commanded Christians to love one another (St. John 13:34). If we love them, we want what is good for them. We want what God wants for them. Therefore we pray for them. Let us remember that Jesus' commandment to love one another was just that--a commandment, not a suggestion. Keeping the commandments of God is obedience, and obedience brings the love (blessing) of God (St. John 15:7, 10). Stupid Behavior Among Christian Singles Over 40. We know it sounds harsh to use the word "stupid", however, it perfectly describes the silly behavior we've observed in even those Christian singles who claim they are marriage minded. Foolish behavior is NOT of God. His Word says, "God hath not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a SOUND (healthy) MIND" (2 Tim. 1:7). A large part of the reason why the problem of Christian singleness continues to persist is due to silly and idiotic behavior on the part of some "marriage minded" Christian singles. How many times have they thrown away a God given opportunity to foster a relationship leading to marriage? They would do well to examine themselves by asking, "Do I really want to be married or am I simply saying such a thing to appear 'normal' to others?" The vast majority of Christian singles over 40 either have run into people with this kind of stupid behavior, or they are among the group of singles whose actions loudly say they don't want to ever marry, despite the words that come out of their mouth. So, what are some of the manifestations of a less-than-sound mind? Below is a partial list that we've compiled down through the years: 1. Unwillingness to interact with a potential candidate except through social media such as FaceBook. That is ridiculous! You say that you want a husband or wife, but when a candidate comes along, you can't take time out for real and personal emails, letters, or phone calls. Why not just have a virtual marriage to anyone on FB instead of trying to foster real relationships? 2. Some Christian singles over 40 have ridiculous requirements and expectations. Among the ones we've encountered are guys who can't tolerate a woman who's even one year older than they are, and women who can't tolerate a man who's an inch shorter than they are. 3. A good number of Christian men are literally terrified to approach a Christian lady, particularly if she is very attractive. Some are afraid even if she has shown some interest. If she is truly Christian, she's not going to be rude, so why is there so much fear?
