Why is it so hard to find a decent guy to be in a relationship with in Dubai? I was born and raised here and went back to my country for college.

I had a meaningful relationship there but we broke up due to distance after I moved back to Dubai. Since I’ve been back, it’s been hard to have a deep meaningful relationship with any guy. They all just want to sleep around and not get serious. I did date a guy for a year and a half and it was great for a bit but when I asked him where our relationship was going he got very defensive and shut down. A month or so later he jumped at the first chance to break up after a disagreement. So basically what I’m asking is, people that have found love and meaningful relationships in Dubai, how did you do it? Editing to add: I’m overwhelmed by all the helpful advice and all the people here giving me hope. I’m thankful to everyone that took the time to comment. Would also like to add that I’m not in a hurry to find someone. I have just come out of a relationship and am going to ease back into the dating scene taking to heart some of the advice I have gotten here.
